In Light as a Metaphor for Language, the project involved learning and experimentation, alongside a visual reflection on sharpness, the viewpoint, the object plane, and the image plane. A work by visual artist Toni Casassas was placed in the object plane, while the image plane was positioned parallel to the painting. Since the painting is an almost flat surface, the plane of sharpness (1) was aligned with the object plane, eliminating the need to analyse the depth of field (2).

The painting was rotated to compose different versions of abstract aesthetics without changing the point of view or the parallelism between the scene and the image plane. Additionally, the criteria of frontal perspective (3) were followed in the central image of the sequence. Regarding lighting, a grazing light was used with obstructions placed in front of the main source to enhance the texture and relief of the painting. Finally, pieces of cellophane paper were placed over the scene to create projected colored shadows.
