Nathan Lyons (1) and Joan Fontcuberta (2) share a creative personality and a capacity for innovation in the visual communication of photography, whether as educators, authors, or visual creators. In 1990, Lyons articulated the concept of image management as the future of photography in an interview with Fontcuberta featured in the book Fotografía. Conceptos y procedimientos. Una propuesta metodológica (3).

Fontcuberta and Lyons, through their iconographic and textual reflections, transcend the two-dimensional confines of photography.

Fontcuberta's The World is Born in Every Kiss is an example of the evolution of visual communication through photography and the fusion of images. A pile of photographs creates a single image, and as Lyons states in one of his images, ‘Don't believe your eyes’.
