Anthropology and Photography

Anthropology (1) is the science that studies the individual as a psychophysical being and their environment. It is also the historical research of Humanism. Photography has contributed to preserving some of the characteristics of humankind and their ways of life in the past.

Reflecting historically, most people have lived in natural and social environments that no longer exist. During my childhood in the early 1960s, my family spent summers in Castell de l'Areny, a rural community (2) of houses without electricity or running water. Roads connected the houses, and animals provided transport.

Influenced by Diane Arbus (3), during my youth in the mid-1970s, he wanted to photograph his childhood memories. The older ones had died and the younger ones had grown old.
